We advise individuals, family-owned enterprises, and institutional clients across a defined range of practice areas. Our approach is formal and deliberate. We read the brief carefully, consider the full picture, and give advice designed to hold up — in a boardroom, before a court, or at a negotiating table.

Kyra Oduya

Kyra founded the firm in 2008 after seven years in commercial litigation with a senior Nairobi practice. She leads the firm's corporate advisory and litigation practice and has appeared before the High Court and the Court of Appeal on matters of commercial and constitutional significance. She advises boards, founders, and institutional lenders on matters they need to get right the first time.
Thomas Maina
Senior Associate
Thomas heads the firm's real estate, conveyancing, and employment practice. He has acted on property transactions ranging from single residential transfers to significant commercial acquisitions across Nairobi and its environs. He also conducts proceedings before the Employment and Labour Relations Court and advises employers and employees on formal dispute resolution.
Amara Wanjiku
Associate
Amara manages the firm's family law practice and assists in commercial litigation. She joined Kyra & Co in 2020 and has since developed a focused practice in matrimonial proceedings, succession, and estate administration. Her work requires both precision and care — qualities she brings consistently to every matter she takes on.
Sixteen years of continuous practice in Nairobi. Our advocates have appeared before the High Court, the Court of Appeal, and the Employment and Labour Relations Court, and have advised on transactions and disputes of material consequence to individuals and institutions. We understand the Kenyan legal system not as an abstraction, but as a working environment in which we have operated every working day for over a decade.
Client matters are handled with strict confidentiality. We do not disclose retainers, share client information beyond the requirements of a matter, or discuss our work outside the proper channels. Our clients' trust in our discretion is not incidental to our practice — it is foundational to it, and it is a standard we hold without exception regardless of the nature or scale of the matter.
We measure our performance by outcomes, not by activity. We decline matters we do not believe we can advance effectively, and we give honest assessments from the first consultation rather than comfortable opinions designed to secure a retainer. When we take on a matter, we take it seriously — and we remain with it until it is resolved.
