Rift Valley Short Rib
36-hour dry-brined, slow-roasted over acacia wood, finished with a smoked paprika and wild honey glaze. Falls off the bone.
Open-flame grilling, Nairobi nights
Jua Grill House was born out of something simple: a belief that great food doesn't need artifice — it needs heat, patience, and the right hands tending the fire. We built our kitchen around a custom live-fire grill that runs on a blend of acacia and coconut shell charcoal, producing an ember-clean smoke you can taste in every bite.
We source our beef from Rift Valley highland farms, our seafood arrives fresh from the Kenyan coast, and our produce comes from small-scale growers within a hundred kilometres of the city. The menu shifts with the seasons and whatever is good at the gate that morning.
Jua means sun in Swahili. That's the feeling we're after — warmth on your face, something slow-cooking nearby, good people around you, nowhere else to be.
The glow of the coals, the clink of glass, the low hum of good conversation.
Tables fill fast on weekends. Book ahead and we'll have everything ready — your spot, your first drink, the coals already burning.
